The National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Climate Change has received an official letter of appreciation from UNFCCC Executive Secretary Simon Stiell for submitting its updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0) under the Paris Agreement.
The document was presented in November 2025 at the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, reflecting a significant increase in the country’s climate ambition.
Under NDC 3.0, Uzbekistan committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions intensity per unit of GDP by 50% by 2035 compared to 2010 levels, taking into account national circumstances and capabilities.
The UNFCCC Secretariat noted the broad sectoral scope of the document, its focus on achieving carbon neutrality by 2055, and alignment with the Global Stocktake outcomes. It also emphasized that COP30 decisions strengthen global efforts on mitigation and adaptation.
Simon Stiell reaffirmed the Secretariat’s readiness to continue providing comprehensive support to Uzbekistan.
In turn, the National Committee confirmed its intention to enhance cooperation with international partners to advance climate policy and resilience.
