FFUN SDG, or the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Fund, a structure within the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, is preparing for enhanced collaboration with Kazakhstan. The initiative will involve the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the engineering and consulting company ILF Kazakhstan.

According to FFUN SDG President Maurizio Aronica, the project aims to support and promote sustainable development, energy transition, infrastructure, and education initiatives in Kazakhstan and the Eurasian region through 2030. The focus will be on innovative and environmentally responsible solutions aligned with Kazakhstan’s plans for green growth and climate adaptation.

The collaboration includes:

  • scientific research and knowledge sharing,

  • engagement with industrial enterprises and government agencies,

  • implementation of FFUN SDG’s “New Sustainable Silk Road” initiative, emphasizing green economy and infrastructure,

  • establishment of a “green hub” – a platform for innovation, knowledge exchange, and coordination of sustainable initiatives.

Priority areas also include reducing harmful emissions, developing renewable energy, and enhancing energy efficiency. FFUN SDG will actively support these efforts at local, national, and international levels, providing partnerships, backing from international organizations, and grant opportunities.
