On March 17, a scientific and practical conference titled “Use and Protection of Water Resources in the Context of Climate Change: Current Status and Prospects” was held at the initiative of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event took place within the framework of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028” and was dedicated to World Water Day.
The conference brought together leadership and staff of the Committee, representatives of the scientific community, as well as experts from key national institutions, including the Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Ministry of Agriculture, Housing and Utilities Committee, and the Agency for Hydrometeorology.
During the event, participants delivered presentations and reports outlining planned measures and actions aligned with the goals of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”.
Special focus was placed on sustainable water management, climate adaptation, and strengthening interagency cooperation.
It was noted that such events contribute to enhancing cooperation, sharing best practices, and addressing water, environmental, and climate challenges in an integrated manner.
