Tajikistan Delegation Participates in Side Event on China’s Climate Adaptation Solutions

On the sidelines of the 30th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-30) in Belém, Brazil, a side event titled “China’s Climate Adaptation Solutions” was held. The event was organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China, in collaboration with the China Meteorological Administration, leading scientific institutions, and international organizations.

The event was attended by leaders and experts from the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, who highlighted the importance of the discussed topics for countries highly vulnerable to climate risks.

Muzaffar Shodmonov, representative of the Tajik delegation, participated in the panel discussion and spoke on climate adaptation in mountainous regions. In his remarks, he emphasized:

  • the need for development and modernization of early warning systems for natural hazards,

  • the importance of international cooperation and data sharing to enhance adaptation measures,

  • the priority of supporting vulnerable countries,

  • and the necessity of developing scientific capacity and strengthening institutional mechanisms for adaptation.

The side event served as a key platform for sharing experiences and discussing global and national climate adaptation initiatives. The insights and contacts gained will be used to advance Tajikistan’s priorities in climate adaptation and early warning systems.
