Official Launch of the Interregional Working Group Website "Central Asia – Russia" Took Place on July 8

On July 8, 2025, the new website of the Interregional Working Group of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) "Central Asia – Russia" was officially launched. The presentation of the digital platform took place during a thematic meeting of participating countries, supported by the UNCCD Secretariat.
The technical presentation of the website was delivered by members of the Working Group, highlighting the key features of the platform, which aims to enhance information exchange, promote joint initiatives, and coordinate actions among the countries of Central Asia and the Russian Federation in the field of sustainable land management and land degradation combat.
During the session, which brought together national coordinators and experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia, participants engaged in a substantive discussion on regional cooperation within the UNCCD framework. Representatives of FAO Kazakhstan, participating as observers to the Working Group, also shared their perspectives.
The new website will serve as a tool to enhance transparency, exchange experience, and strengthen partnerships among regional countries in the implementation of UNCCD provisions.
