The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister Asel Raimkulova and Batyr Mammedov, Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC).
The parties discussed preparations for the Central Asian Climate Change Conference (CACCC) and explored prospects for hosting the conference in 2027.
Particular attention was given to the possibility of organizing CACCC-2027 within the framework of the Global Mountain Summit, which is planned to take place in Bishkek in 2027. Holding the two events together could strengthen regional cooperation and enhance international attention to climate change and sustainable mountain development.
Representatives of CAREC highlighted the organization’s extensive experience in conducting regional climate conferences alongside major international events and expressed their readiness to provide technical and organizational support during the preparation process.
The discussions also addressed opportunities for further cooperation in the areas of climate policy, sustainable mountain development, and regional environmental cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration and coordination in preparing and organizing international events aimed at advancing the climate agenda and promoting sustainable development in Central Asia.
