In celebration of March 21 — World Glacier Day, a national scientific and practical conference titled “Glaciers, Climate and Water Resources: Current Challenges and International Cooperation” was held at the Agency for Hydrometeorology.
The event brought together representatives of the Government, scientific community, and international organizations. Speakers highlighted the importance of international initiatives led by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, in the field of glacier protection and water resource management.
During the conference, participants discussed the current state of glaciers, water resource monitoring, cryosphere research, and international cooperation.
Special attention was given to developing practical recommendations for glacier preservation in the context of climate change, as well as strengthening scientific collaboration between countries and research institutions.
