Ashgabat, July 22, 2025 — President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting focused on the current state of the agricultural sector and the progress of seasonal fieldwork. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atakhallyev.
The report presented at the meeting covered ongoing preparations for sowing winter wheat, including plowing and leveling of fields, as well as the readiness of agricultural machinery and seed stock. In cotton fields, inter-row cultivation, irrigation, topping, and fertilizer application continue. Special attention was also given to the maintenance of rice and sugar beet crops in the velayats.
The Head of State emphasized the strategic importance of agriculture in ensuring national food security and outlined key priorities for further development of the sector — the introduction of innovative technologies, efficient use of resources, and strict adherence to agrotechnical schedules.
President Berdimuhamedov instructed the government to ensure timely settlements between agricultural producers and service providers, complete the preparation of equipment for the sowing of winter crops, and enhance control over the construction of agricultural infrastructure projects in the regions.
