Kazakhstan continues accepting applications for insurance coverage of grain and oilseed crops against the risk of excess soil moisture during the harvesting season. The insurance mechanism aims to reduce financial risks for agricultural producers and strengthen the resilience of the farming sector to adverse weather conditions.
Farmers can submit applications for insurance contracts until 30 June 2026 through the digital platform Kezekte.kz.
Insurance coverage is available to agricultural producers in the Abai, Ulytau, Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar, and North Kazakhstan regions.
The insurance protection period runs from 15 August to 14 October 2026 and covers risks associated with excess soil moisture during the harvest period, which may negatively affect crop yields and product quality.
All procedures, including application submission, contract signing, and compensation payments, are carried out electronically through the Qalqan agricultural insurance information system, available on the Kezekte.kz platform. Participation requires a valid electronic digital signature (EDS).
An important feature of the programme is the substantial government support: 80% of the insurance premium is subsidized by the state, allowing farmers to pay only 20% of the total insurance cost.
The expansion of agricultural insurance mechanisms contributes to strengthening the resilience of the agricultural sector to climate risks and supports adaptation to increasingly variable weather conditions.
