Kazakhstan and Israel Consider a Memorandum on Environmental Cooperation

Kazakhstan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Alibek Kuantyrov, met with Yoav Bistritsky, Israel’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Ahead of the tenth meeting of the Kazakhstan–Israel Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, scheduled for November in Israel, the parties discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in environmental protection.

Both sides expressed interest in preparing and signing a memorandum of understanding. The document could cover climate policy, biodiversity conservation, forest ecosystem restoration, combating land degradation and improving waste management.
