Ashgabat, May 12, 2025 — Representatives of the Scientific Information Center of the Interstate Commission on Sustainable Development (SIC ICSD) took part in a regional workshop focused on strengthening the role of youth and women in addressing climate risks in Turkmenistan and Central Asia. The event, organized by CAWEP and the World Bank with the support of CAREC, was held within the framework of the Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2025) and brought together international experts, eco-activists, and civil society representatives.

The workshop served as a platform for knowledge exchange and discussion of strategies to engage young people and women in the implementation of climate solutions. Participants explored international and national climate agendas, environmental activism examples, and educational projects, including the LCOY and RCOY youth platforms.

Through interactive sessions and group exercises, young participants from all Central Asian countries identified priority climate challenges and proposed adaptation measures tailored to national contexts. SIC ICSD contributed to the seminar by co-moderating the youth session and coordinating the collection of proposals from participants.

The very next day, on May 13, during a dedicated session of CACCC-2025, the innovative solutions developed by youth were officially presented, aimed at enhancing the resilience of the region to climate change.
