Ashgabat, May 12, 2025 — Representatives of the Scientific Information Center of the Interstate Commission on Sustainable Development (SIC ICSD) participated in the Regional Coordination Committee meeting and the official launch of Phase II of the ReCATH Initiative during the CACCC-2025 conference in Ashgabat. The event marked the beginning of a new phase of the Regional Climate Action Transparency Hub, implemented with the support of ICAT (Initiative for Climate Action Transparency).
During the meeting, the structure of Phase II and key priorities for 2025–2026 were presented, including the institutionalization of the coordination committee, capacity building across the region, integration of transparency mechanisms into national policies, and the sustainability of ReCATH as a regional knowledge platform.
Participants reviewed the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the committee, discussed the coordination of regional climate reporting, set priorities for evaluating policy effectiveness, and agreed on the importance of regular consultations and capacity-building sessions.The discussion also highlighted synergies between ReCATH and ongoing efforts related to methane emissions reduction, climate adaptation, and enhancing transparency through the CBIT-GSP (Capacity-Building Initiative for Transparency – Global Support Programme).
