Rosprirodnadzor, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, continues its efforts to recover damages caused by soil and water pollution across Russia. In recent months, courts have upheld several major claims totaling billions of rubles in favor of environmental restoration.
In the Saratov Region, the company “Saratovskaya Spetsializirovannaya Tekhnika” was ordered to pay 1.05 billion rubles for illegal waste disposal over an area exceeding 24,000 square meters.
In Nizhny Novgorod, the city administration must pay 1.8 million rubles for the unauthorized dumping of construction waste, part of which contaminated a fire pond.
In Volgograd, “VOLGOCITY HOME” was fined 1.1 million rubles for wastewater spills that polluted surrounding soils.
In Astrakhan, “ARIB-SNAB” was ordered to compensate 3.8 million rubles for damaging fertile soil layers and polluting a nearby water body.
Rosprirodnadzor emphasizes that these actions reinforce the principle of inevitable accountability for environmental harm and strengthen state control over soil conservation, one of Russia’s most vital natural assets.
