The Russian Environmental Operator (REO) and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) have signed a cooperation agreement to advance environmental projects across CIS countries. The document was signed on behalf of REO by Irina Tarasova, General Director.
According to REO, the partnership with EDB will create opportunities to expand circular economy practices beyond Russia, sharing proven expertise in waste management and resource efficiency. This initiative is seen as a significant contribution to both sustainable development in CIS countries and the achievement of national environmental goals.
The EDB has identified waste management as a strategic priority and expressed interest in leveraging Russian know-how for projects in member states. The cooperation will include the development of waste sorting and recycling facilities, adoption of best available technologies, economic feasibility studies, and the creation of investment cooperation models.
REO will also participate in expert evaluations of project effectiveness, particularly in areas such as separate waste collection, recycling, and the integration of secondary resources into the economy.
