Belém, Brazil – November 6, 2025. Under the chairmanship of Brazil, the official opening ceremony of the Leaders’ Summit of the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) took place.

The plenary session gathered heads of state and government, ministers, and representatives of international organizations to discuss global climate challenges and renew commitments to joint climate action.

The Kazakh delegation, led by Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Yerlan Nysanbayev, reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to the global climate agenda and outlined national efforts aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening climate resilience.

In his opening remarks, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva emphasized the symbolic importance of hosting the summit in the Amazon — the world’s largest tropical forest — underscoring its vital role in global climate balance.

Minister Yerlan Nysanbayev also extended an invitation to all participating countries to attend the Regional Environmental Summit, which will be held in Kazakhstan in 2026.
