On 23 February 2026, representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in environmental protection, as well as the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the field of ecology and environmental protection.
The Kazakh side also informed Uzbek colleagues about the preparations for the Regional Environmental Summit, which will take place on 22–24 April 2026 in Astana.
It was noted that the upcoming summit will serve as an important platform for discussing regional environmental challenges, strengthening cooperation and developing joint solutions for environmental protection.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and to actively engage in the preparation and implementation of the upcoming Regional Environmental Summit.
