June 5, Dushanbe — On the sidelines of the conference in Dushanbe, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Nysanbayev, met with Arnold Kreilhuber, Director of the UNEP Regional Office for Europe. The parties discussed the current state of cooperation and future plans, including support for the 2026 Regional Environmental Summit.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The memorandum is intended to strengthen the partnership and lay the foundation for the implementation of joint environmental initiatives. The document envisions the expansion of experience and resource exchange, support for nature conservation, sustainable development, and climate policy projects. Both sides expressed their commitment to active cooperation within the framework of regional and international programs aimed at improving environmental conditions and enhancing ecological resilience in Central Asia.
