On August 11–12, 2025, in Astana, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with support from international partners — GIZ, UNDP, FAO, UNITAR, UNICEF, and the NDC Partnership — held a two-day event entitled “NDC 3.0 of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Dialogue on Shaping Climate Commitments.”

The dialogue showcased interim results of developing the third updated NDC, which will define Kazakhstan’s climate goals in line with the Paris Agreement.

The event served as a cross-sectoral platform, bringing together representatives from government agencies, the private sector, scientific and expert communities, financial institutions, international organizations, and civil society.

Discussions covered emissions reduction, adaptation, sustainable agriculture, mainstreaming climate issues into education, attracting investment into green projects, and the development of climate finance.

The second day focused on mobilizing resources and optimizing state and private investments in climate projects.

This event marked an important milestone towards the adoption of NDC 3.0, a key tool for implementing Kazakhstan’s climate policy.
